The Biggest Event in the UAE

Expo 2020 Dubai is definitely the biggest event in the UAE right now. I’m sharing here I share a list of my favorite and must-visit pavilions at Dubai Expo 2020.

I have been to the Expo several times so far, and I haven’t managed to see it all yet. If you are planning to visit, make sure to spare enough days to have the chance to experience most of the pavilions, restaurants and coffee shops. If you are sparing only a day or two of your trip to Dubai, there is no way you can cover everything…

So, there is so much to do at Expo 2020, make your visit chilled and enjoy your time there, don’t stress about visiting the pavilions only.

After running through dozens of the pavilions, you can expect a lot of new technologies, big screens, visual and sound effects, and many more.

Most importantly, the pavilions aim to showcase the beauty of their country from the smallest to the biggest Expo’ pavilions.

My Best Pavilions to Visit at Expo 2020 Dubai

Japan Pavilion

What I can clearly say, is Japan worth the wait! After many tries of visiting the Japanese pavilions, I managed to book the Smart queue - Remember to book as early as possible starting 9 AM - in order to book a spot for the day, as the pavilion does not accept Walk-Ins due to the high number of visitors.

When I entered Japan’, I realized why the number of visitors within the same visit is limited; the Japanese visit is organized through a guided tour, and it’s good to note here the friendliness and the professionalism of the staff!

You should experience the tour by yourself, but expect something interactive, thoughtful with the touch of Japanese culture and their innovation in doing

things.

2. Saudi Arabia KSA Pavilion

A surprising Dubai Expo 2020 pavilion. I discovered a lot about Saudi Arabia that I didn’t know before. The KSA pavilion shows many of the Saudi culture and country in general.

The exterior design of the Saudi Arabia pavilion features the largest interactive mirror screen in the World with around 8000 LED floor lights that illuminate into different multi-colored patterns, and you can see the reflection of all those lights in the mirror. Best to experience the pavilion in the evening or nighttime!

This second-largest Expo 2020 Pavilion, shows the vision of the country and reflects the development that Saudi Arabia has followed in the past years. I personally felt that I want to visit the country and added it to my travel plans :)

From the inside, you will experience a 68m curved screen showcasing the ecosystems of the country, in addition to an interactive floor, a lovely water fountain at the entrance, and a complete Dubai Expo 2020 experience!

3. India Pavilion

The Indian pavilion at the Expo 2020 Dubai is a celebration of India's rich heritage and diverse culture.

The India Pavilion is an opportunity for the World to experience the spirit of Indian culture, creativity, innovation, and progress. It showcases the country's best talent in architecture, design, engineering, art, and entertainment to create an immersive experience for visitors.

Also expect some yoga practices, space programs innovation, and stores promoting a lot of Indian fashion and accessories.

The pavilion is huge and surprising; I also loved the way Taj Mahal was introduced; very interesting.

4- The United States USA Pavilion

The US Pavilion is simply a shared experience that highlights the best of what America is currently offering the World and what it has to offer.

In this huge pavilion, the USA is showing innovation in mobility, architecture, communications, and public spaces. It also shares the American story of innovation with people from all over the World.

Defined by its architecture, the US pavilion is designed to inspire visitors and future generations of individuals, professionals, and business owners.

I loved how it showcased the American companies and their innovations, Apple, Space X, and many more, through interactive, immersive experiences for all visitors.

One of my favorite pavilions that I highly recommend everyone to visit.

5- The United Arab Emirates UAE Pavilion

Designed by the Swiss-Spanish International Architect Santiago Calatrava, an immersive design with 28 opening wings. I’m glad I got the chance to watch these metal-made wings movements.

“The UAE Pavilion offers visitors an opportunity to explore the history and future of the United Arab Emirates – from its origins to its thriving present and its visionary future," as Calatrava’s studio mentioned.

It really shows the passion and dedication of the people in Dubai and the UAE and plays as a reminder of the country’s present anf future vision.

The pavilion highlights the develpment that the UAE has followed, in beautiful designs, creatives, and innovative ideas.

You might wait to enter, but it’s definitely a must-see pavilion.

6- Colombia Pavilion

I had a lovely experience at the Colombia Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai. Amazing people offering an enjoyable tour to tell the past, present and future stories of Colombia’s culture through its music. The pavilion shows the great biodiversity of the country’s plants and animals.

Colombia is one of the more fun to visit pavilions, with interactive tours of the nation’s amazing sceneries and landscapes, tourism attractions and investment opportunities.

When we think of Colombia, we cannot but relate to Coffee, as the third-largest global exporter behind Brazil and Vietnam.
After visiting the pavilion’s spots and activities, you can enjoy Colombian coffee at the coffee place; You can also buy your favorite coffee type there.
I’m still enjoying the coffee after almost 2-months of my visit to the pavilion.

Besides the coffee, Colombia showcases pure honey and honey with fruits from the Caribbean side of Colombia which is being sold inside the pavilion too. In addition to the Chocolate they sell which is famous the most.

Chocolate, coffee, honey, and tea are on sale inside the pavilion.

And one more thing, I enjoyed the dance part; it was fun :) So make sure to enjoy the moment!

7- Morocco Pavilion

Located in the Opportunity District, the Morocco pavilion architecture combines modernity and tradition; A huge building with different exhibition areas that offer visitors a unique immersive experience.

I loved how the argan tree was integrated into the building’s façade with its recognized cosmetic and nutritional properties, as Morocco is well know in producing argan oil.

When visiting Morocco’s pavilion, you can expect a lot of exhibition spaces narrating a story of the Moroccan culture. A traditional Moroccan restaurant, a tea room, a modern street food area, a shop, an event space, an office space, and a lounge combine to create a striking showcase of different regions and aspects of modern Moroccan life!

8- Singapore Pavilion

Singapore is just an amazing pavilion to visit, merging the country’s architecture, nature, technology, and culture.

The Singapore pavilion features more than 170 varieties of plants from diverse habitats in Singapore and is set within different layers of greenery. The design is stunning, designed by thousands of pots, from hanging gardens to vertical walls. The experience is more like green space, taking visitors through tropical rainforests, mangrove areas, and forest streams. Potable water produced through the on-site solar desalination process is used for drip irrigation, minimizing water consumption.

When you go up to the upper floor, you will enjoy a 360-degree video on the Sustainability district and other pavilions in the Expo 2020. You can also try some bites at the Singapore restaurant.

And yes, photos can be taken everywhere at the pavilion :)
