Messenger Rooms - Facebook Video Calls for up to 50 People
We're all on video these days, and it seems Zoom has now a new alternative that can be accessed easier.
Facebook announced yesterday features that help make live video and video chat easier and more natural.
Messenger Rooms, are joinable video calls you can create from Messenger and Facebook apps, and soon on Instagram Direct and WhatsApp.
Anyone can be invited even people with no Facebook account. You just send them an invitation link through which they can join the call.
Schedule
Messenger Rooms can start immediately and they can be scheduled to start at a specific time.
Privacy
Public for anyone to join. The rooms will appear on the top of the news feeds.
Messenger Rooms can also be private accessable with a link where anyone can join either with the link or by being invited directly.
It's good to know that Facebook has developed privacy settings for the rooms where we can open a room for a group or an event.
Moreover, the rooms can be locked so no one will be able to join anymore.
As per Facebook, they are working on updates such as virtual dates in Facebook Dating, Facebook Live to Pages and Groups from Portal, Instagram Live on Desktop and IGTV, online Facebook events, an expansion of WhatsApp group video calls to eight people, Messenger Kids in new countries, and a relaunch of Facebook Live With for co-broadcasting on Facebook.
